Conlin McCabe

Conlin McCabe (born August 20, 1990 in Brockville , Ontario ) is a Canadian rower who won Olympic silver in eighth place in 2012 .

Athletic career

McCabe finished fourth at the Junior World Championships in 2006 in a four-man with helmsman , at the Junior World Championships in 2007 he won the silver medal in a two-man without helmsman together with Anthony Jacob . In 2008 McCabe finished second with the Canadian eight behind the US big boat at the U23 World Championships , followed by fourth place in the four without a helmsman in 2009 . At the 2009 World Championships in the adult class, McCabe took fourth place in a two-man with helmsman . In 2010 Anthony Jacob and Conlin McCabe won silver at the U23 World Championships in twos without a helmsman.

Also in 2010 McCabe rowed for the first time internationally in the Canadian men's eight, at the world championships the boat took seventh place as the winner of the B final. McCabe received his first adult medal at the 2011 World Championships when he rowed eighth to third place behind the Germany eighth and the British. In 2012 the Canadian eighth set a world best time of 5: 19.35 minutes in the run-up to the Rowing World Cup in Lucerne , but only finished third in the final. At the Olympic Games in London, the German eighth won ahead of the Canadians.

In 2013, three rowers, Conlin McCabe, Robert Gibson and Will Crothers, switched from the silver eight of 2012 to the four without a helmsman , together with Will Dean the crew took 14th place at the world championships . In 2014 Kai Langerfeld rowed for Will Dean in the Canadian four-man , and the four-man finished fifth at the World Championships .
