Jeremiah Brown (rower)

Jeremiah Brown (born November 25, 1985 in Hamilton , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian rower who won Olympic silver in eighth place in 2012 .

Athletic career

The 1.98 m tall Jeremiah Brown only started rowing in 2009. In 2011 he competed with the Canadian eighth in the Rowing World Cup regatta in Lucerne and finished fifth. At the 2011 World Championships in Bled Gabriel Bergen , Andrew Byrnes , Jeremiah Brown, Douglas Csima , Malcolm Howard , Conlin McCabe , Robert Gibson , Will Crothers and helmsman Brian Price rowed into third place behind the boats from Germany and the United Kingdom. In 2012 the Canadian eighth in the same line-up as in the previous year set a world best time of 5: 19.35 minutes in the run-up to the Rowing World Cup in Lucerne , but only finished third in the final. At the Olympic Games in London, the German eighth won ahead of the Canadians. In 2017, the German eight also beat the world record of the Canadian eight in 2012.
