Matej Prelog

Matej Prelog (born March 13, 1980 in Maribor ) is a former Slovenian rower .

Prelog was fifth in the 1998 Junior World Championships in two without a helmsman . In 1999 he won the silver medal at the U23 World Championships in the four-man without a helmsman . Together with Janez Klemenčič , Milan Janša and Rok Kolander , Prelog took fourth place in the four without a helmsman at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. In 2001 the Slovenian foursome won the World Cup in Seville. At the World Championships in Lucerne , the British won ahead of the German foursome, Klemenčič, Janša, Kolander and Prelog received the bronze medal. The following year, the four Slovenes finished fourth at the World Championships in Seville . In 2003 Prelog started as a scull rower , at the World Championships in Milan he finished fourth in double sculls with Luka Špik . In 2004 Prelog entered the world championships in the non-Olympic boat classes in a four-man with helmsman and was fourth in the world championship for the third year in a row.

At the 2005 World Championships in Gifu won Luka Spik and Iztok Čop in double sculls. In the double fours , the two competed together with Davor Mizerit and Matej Prelog and together they won the silver medal behind the Poles. In 2006 Matej Prelog was back in the four without a helmsman and rowed in his last major regatta to fifth place at the World Championships in Eton .

The 1.95 m tall Matej Prelog rowed for DE Branik Maribor .
