Sandra Goldbach

Sandra Goldbach (born April 15, 1977 in Dresden ) is a former German rower .

Athletic career

Sandra Goldbach won the title in the four without a helmsman at the Junior World Championships in 1995 . In 1996 she rowed a bronze medal in the same boat class at the Nations Cup, the predecessor of the U23 World Championships . In 1997 she moved up to eighth in the adult class and finished fifth at the World Championships . At the 1998 World Championships in Cologne she competed in a foursome without a helmsman and reached sixth place. At the end of July 1999, she won the Nations Cup title in a foursome. A month later the four-man competed with Sandra Goldbach, Marita Scholz , Mira van Daelen and Sonja van Daelen at the World Championships in St. Catharines and won the silver medal behind the Belarusians.

In 2001 Sandra Goldbach returned to eighth. After a second place at the World Cup in Seville and a victory at the World Cup in Munich, the eighth won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Lucerne behind the boats from Australia and Romania. The following year, Goldbach rowed again in a foursome and finished sixth at the World Championships in Seville . She also competed in a foursome at the 2003 World Championships in Milan and won the bronze medal together with Ulrike Stadlmayr , Dana Pyritz and Manuela Zander . In 2004 she rowed with Maren Derlien in two without a helmsman . The two finished fifth at the Olympic Games in Athens .

At the German championships in 1999 Goldbach won the four-man title together with Marita Scholz and Sonja and Mira van Daelen. In 2001 she won the two-man title with Maja Tucholke . In 1997, 2002 and 2003 she was part of the crew that won the eighth title.

The 1.83 m tall Sandra Goldbach started for the Dresden Rowing Club . The trained office clerk belonged to the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr during her career.
