Manuela Zander

Manuela Zander (born January 15, 1978 in Burg ) is a former German rower who took 3rd place at the 2003 World Championships in Milan with the four-man without helmsman .

In 1996, Zander competed in an international regatta for the first time when she was part of the German junior eight at the world championships in Glasgow. She won the world title there. It was only four years later that she was able to take part in the then unofficial World Championships ( Nations Cup ) in the U23 age group . In the quadruple sculls women she won together with Britta Holthaus , Christiane Huth and Jördis Gramowski also a gold medal. In the open age group, she tried the 2001 Rowing World Cup in one offer for the national team, which she did not succeed. After returning to the belt sector, she qualified for the 2002 World Rowing Championships in Seville, where she came in sixth with Sandra Goldbach , Anuschka Stojanowitsch and Christiane Hölzel .

In the following year, the rower from RV Kurhessen Cassel won her only German championship title in the four-man together with Sarah Pollmann, Katlehn Rodewald and Christiane Hölzel. At the 2003 World Championships in Milan, Zander was the only one from the master boat, with Ulrike Stadlmayr , Dana Pyritz and Sandra Goldbach rowing together. In 2004 she started again at the Rowing World Cup, but she no longer managed to qualify for an international competition.
