Christiane Hölzel

Christiane Hölzel (born July 16, 1981 ) is a former German rower .

Hölzel won the silver medal with the four-man without a helmsman at the Junior World Championships in 1998, and the following year she won with the German four-man. In 2000 she won bronze at the Nations Cup , a forerunner to the U23 World Championships , in a two-man without a helmsman , and in 2001 a bronze medal in a four-man.

In 2002, Hölzel took sixth place with the four at both the U23 World Championships and the 1982 World Championships in the adult class. In 2003 she entered the rowing World Cup in Munich with the eighth. At the World Cup regatta 2005 in Lucerne, the German four-man without helmsman with Christina Hennings , Wilma Dressel , Kerstin Naumann and Christiane Hölzel came second behind the Chinese. Six weeks later, the German four-man competed at the World Championships in Gifu with Mandy Emmrich instead of Christina Hennings. The German foursome won the silver medal behind the Australians and in front of the Belarusians.

Christiane Hölzel rowed for Wiking Leipzig , but mostly competed in rowing groups with rowers from other clubs. At the German championships in 2003 she won in a four-man team with Sarah Pollmann from Hamm, Manuela Zander from Kassel and Katlehn Rodewald from Potsdam.
