Carin ter Beek

Carin Anuschka ter Beek (born December 29, 1970 in Groningen ) is a former Dutch rower . As a member of the Dutch eighth, she won the Olympic silver medal in 2000.

The 1.86 m tall Carin ter Beek rowed for Proteus Eretes from Delft. At the 1996 World Championships , she finished seventh in the four without a helmsman . A year later she also reached seventh place at the 1997 World Championships , this time in a double scull . In 1998 at the World Championships in Cologne , the Dutch four-man without a helmsman won the bronze medal with Christine Vink , Carin ter Beek, Tessa Appeldoorn and Nelleke Penninx . In 1999 Carin ter Beek moved to eighth. In the World Cup , the eighth finished second in Hazewinkel and Lucerne. At the 1999 World Championships in St. Catharines, the eighth finished fourth. In 2000 the Dutch women won the World Cup opener in Munich, and in Lucerne they took fourth place. At the Olympic Games in Sydney, as in Lucerne, the Romanians won, three seconds behind the Dutch women won the silver medal in the line-up of Anneke Venema , Carin ter Beek, Nelleke Penninx, Pieta van Dishoeck , Eeke van Nes , Tessa Appeldoorn, Marieke Westerhof and Elien Meijer and tax assistant Martijntje Quik . In 2001, Carin ter Beek finished fourth in Seville and fifth in Munich with a double scull in the World Cup. At the 2001 World Championships she won the bronze medal with Femke Dekker , Anneke Venema and Christine Vink in a foursome without a helmsman . The next day, the four rowers also competed in the eighth position and took eighth and last place.
