Nikolaos Skiathitis

Nikolaos "Nikos" Skiathitis (* 11. September 1981 in Volos ) is a retired Greek lightweight - rowers .

Skiathitis took fifth place in the two without a helmsman at the Junior World Championships in 1999 . In 2000 he took tenth place at the U23 World Championships with the lightweight four without a helmsman . At the last regatta in the Rowing World Cup in 2001, Nikolaos Skiathitis, Ioannis Kourkourikis , Vasileios Polymeros and Panagiotis Miliotis took part in the lightweight four without a helmsman and took third place out of four participating boats. At the 2001 World Championships in Lucerne, the four Greeks competed in the lightweight quadruple sculls and won the silver medal behind the Italians. In 2002, Skiathitis and Polymeros competed in lightweight double sculls and finished fifth at the World Championships . In 2003 in Milan , the two Greeks finished eleventh. After Skiathitis and Polymeros had reached the A-final twice in the 2004 World Cup, they won the bronze medal behind the boats from Poland and France at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

The 1.83 m tall Nikolaos Skiathitis had the typical weight of a lightweight rower of 73 kg.
