Irene Herre

Irene Herre (born April 26, 1944 in Geierswalde, East Prussia (now Polish: Gierzwald)) is a German painter .

Life

After her apprenticeship and A-levels, Irene Herre studied German language and literature / art education at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1968 to 1973 .

In 1978 she completed a degree in painting at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art . From 1983 she worked as a freelance visual artist (painting, illustration, course instructor for graphics and painting).

In 1990 she became a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists Berlin and of the female artist group “10 F 90”. In the same year she received a work contract from the artist support state of Berlin, which led to the purchase of two works. From 1991 to 1993 she taught as a lecturer at the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin in the field of Studium generale: Connections between painting and music.

Until 2007 she lived and worked in Berlin . Today she lives in a village near Demmin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and runs her painting school there.
