Roland Göhler (born March 26, 1943 in Meißen ) is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic . In 1966 he won the world championships in two without a helmsman .

Roland Göhler started for the SC Einheit Dresden and trained under Hans Eckstein . Together with Peter Kremtz he won the GDR championships in 1964 and took second place in the two-mans without in 1965 and 1967. At the World Rowing Championships in Bled, the two won the title. At the Olympic Games in 1968 , two Dresden twos formed a four with a helmsman . In the line-up of Peter Kremtz, Roland Göhler, Manfred Gelpke , Klaus Jacob and helmsman Dieter Semetzky , the Dresden crew won silver behind the New Zealand boat. For winning the silver medal, Göhler was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In 1969 he was once again GDR champion in the four.

Roland Göhler was originally a trained carpenter, then studied test engineering and finally did his doctorate. In the Dresden district he headed the state building supervision.
