Andrei Pateitschuk ( Russian Андрей Патейчук ; English transcription Andrey Pateychuk ; born October 26, 1989 in Moscow ) is a professional Russian poker player .

Pateitschuk studied at the State Technical University in Moscow the subjects Physics and Mathematics .

Poker career

Pateitschuk has been playing online since April 2009 under the nicknames ThePateychuk ( PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker ) , aangierr15 (GGPoker) , aangier15 (PokerStars.FR) and ifearpanic ( 888poker and partypoker ) and has tournament winnings of more than 5 million US dollars . Since 2010 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

Pateitschuk was successful for the first time in July 2011 at the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and reached the seventh day of the tournament at the main event . There he finished 15th for prize money of just under $ 500,000. At the end of October 2011 he won the main event of the European Poker Tour in Sanremo, Italy . For this he prevailed against 836 other players and received a prize of 680,000 euros . At the beginning of December 2011, Pateitschuk also won the main event of the World Poker Tour in Prague for another 450,000 euros. In January 2014, by winning the main event of the Merit Poker Winter Festival in Cyprus , he secured prize money of around 145,000 US dollars. In mid-September 2018, Pateitschuk won the main event of the Merit Gangsters Poker Cup in Cyprus and received prize money of around 280,000 US dollars due to a deal with three other players. In July 2019, he prevailed at the main event of the Card Player Poker Tour at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas and secured a prize of almost 550,000 US dollars.

In total, Pateitschuk has earned more than US $ 5 million playing poker in live tournaments. From April to November 2016 he played as part of the Moscow Wolverines in the Global Poker League and made it to the playoffs with his team.
