The Moscow State "NE Bauman" Technical University (also Moscow State Technical University Bauman , Russian Московский Государственный Технический Университет им. Н. Э. Баумана , transcription Moskovsky Gossudarstwenny Technitscheski Uniwersitet in. NE Baumana ), short Bauman MSTU or MSTU , is a state Technical University in Moscow with around 18,000 students and 3,500 academic employees and one of the most influential technical universities in Russia .
history
In 1830 the "Imperial Vocational School" ( Russian Ремесленное училище , Remeslennoje utschilishche ) was founded and changed names several times (including in 1917 after the October Revolution in "Moscow Higher Technical School" / MHTS). In 1930 the university was named after the revolutionary Nikolai Bauman . The current name “State Technical University” dates from 1989; the current rector of the university is Anatoly Alexandrov. In addition to the Moscow headquarters, Bauman University has a campus in Kaluga .
