The Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2011 was the main tournament of the 42nd edition of the Poker World Championship in Las Vegas .

Tournament structure

Registration for the main tournament of the World Series of Poker in the No Limit Hold'em variant was spread over the four days from July 7th to 10th, 2011. Then the game was played until the eighth day of the tournament on July 19, after which only nine players remained. The final table was played on November 6th and 9th, 2011. The entire tournament was played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . The total of 6865 participants had a buy-in of 10,000 dollars to pay for them, there were 693 paid places. Best woman was Erika Moutinho, who took 29th place for more than $ 240,000 in prize money.

The main event was streamed live from the third day of the tournament on the WSOP website. The US television broadcaster ESPN also broadcast summaries in a total of 24 episodes, commented on by Norman Chad and Lon McEachern and moderated for the first time by Kara Scott . The final table was broadcast live and exclusively on ESPN.
