Benjamin "Ben" Lamb (born March 31, 1985 in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) is a professional American poker player .
Lamb has made just under $ 11.5 million in poker playing live tournaments . He won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker in 2011 and reached the final table of the main event of that tournament series twice.
Personal
Lamb graduated from Jenks High School in his native Tulsa in 2004. He then studied at Trinity University in San Antonio , but dropped out due to his poker career. He later worked as a dealer at Cherokee Casino in Tulsa. Lamb lives in Las Vegas .
Poker career
Career
Lamb started playing poker at the age of 18 . From July 2006 to May 2016 he played online under the nicknames benba ( PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker ) and benba lamb ( UltimateBet ) and has earned more than one million US dollars with tournament poker . Since 2006 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .
In June 2006 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished twelfth in a tournament of the Pot Limit Hold'em variant . His first major win came in July 2009 when he finished 14th in the WSOP Main Event for more than $ 600,000 in prize money. In the 2011 WSOP to Lamb initially secured with a tournament victory in Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) his first bracelet and over $ 800,000 in prize money, and then came the main event at the final table , he in November 2011 as part of the November Nine behind Pius Heinz and Martin Staszko finished in third place.
