Jeffrey "Jeff" Lisandro (born July 30, 1965 in Perth ) is a professional Australian - Italian poker player who lives in Salerno and Las Vegas . He is nicknamed Iceman and six-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

As part of the 50th edition of the World Series of Poker , Lisandro was named as one of the 50 best players in poker history in June 2019 .

Poker career

Career

Lisandro learned how to play poker from his mother at the age of five.

He is actually a cash game player who plays for the highest stakes. However, he has always shown himself in the limelight with very good results, including at poker tournaments . He plays online on PokerStars . At the poker table , he regularly chews gum to suppress any tells . At the tournaments of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas he first took part in 1997 ; he immediately made a final table. He was also able to reach a total of eleven other final tables at the WSOP. In December 2004 Lisandro won a heads-up tournament by defeating Howard Lederer at the Bellagio . He won $ 194,000 on an entry fee of $ 25,000. At one of the WSOP circuit tournaments he was able to take first place in May 2005 and win the prize money of 542,360 dollars. He defeated Phil Ivey at the Lake Tahoe tournament, calling it his greatest win. At the 2006 WSOP , he took an excellent 17th place in the main event for $ 659,730. During the closing stages of the tournament, he clashed with Prahlad Friedman because Friedman accused him of not paying his ante . Friedman called him a thief and Lisandro threatened to beat up Friedman. It turned out that another player forgot to pay the ante. Nevertheless, the two did not get along in retrospect. At the 2007 WSOP , he won his first bracelet in Seven Card Stud (prize money of $ 118,000). Previously, he was runner-up behind Allen Cunningham in a Pot Limit Hold'em competition for $ 300,000. In 2009 he won his second bracelet in Seven Card Stud , having previously finished ninth in this variant . On June 20, 2009, he followed up with his third bracelet by winning the World Championship in Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo and succeeding last year's winner Sebastian Ruthenberg . Lisandro underscored his dominance in stud poker with the triple, winning his third bracelet at the 2009 WSOP and his fourth bracelet overall in the Seven Card Razz on June 24th . His three bracelets at the 2009 WSOP made him the 2009 WSOP Player of the Year . Jeff Lisandro won his fifth bracelet at the World Series of Poker Europe 2010 in London in Pot Limit Omaha . In the same variant, he secured his sixth bracelet at the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific 2014 in Melbourne .

Overall, Lisandro has earned more than $ 5.5 million playing poker in live tournaments.
