Poker career
Career
Merson played online under the nickname gregy20723 from January 2007 to October 2015 . Since 2007 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .
In July 2009 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished 639th in the main event for more than $ 20,000 in prize money. At the WSOP 2012 , Merson first won a tournament of the Six Handed No Limit Hold'em variant in early July , which brought him more than one million dollars in prize money and a bracelet, and then took part again in the main event . There he reached the final table, which was played in October 2012, with the third most chips. After around 400 hands, Merson won it on October 30, 2012 after heads-up against Jesse Sylvia , securing prize money of over eight million dollars . In mid-January 2014, Merson took second place in a high-roller tournament as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures on Paradise Island for almost a million dollars in prize money.
