The main tournament of the World Series of Poker in No Limit Hold'em started on May 14th and ended with the final table on May 18, 1996. The tournament was held at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas . The total of 295 participants had to pay a buy-in of US $ 10,000 each, and there were 27 paid places for them. The best woman was Lucy Rokach from Britain , who came in 26th for $ 19,500.
