Huckleberry "Huck" Seed (born January 15, 1969 in Santa Clara , California ) is a professional American poker player . He is four-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker . As part of the 50th edition of this tournament series, Seed was named as one of the 50 best players in poker history in June 2019 .

Personal

Seed studied electrical engineering at the California Institute of Technology and played basketball in college . In 1989 he took a long hiatus to play poker and never returned to college.

Poker career

Career

Seed won the main tournament of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas in 1996 , winning first prize of one million US dollars and a bracelet . He made it to the WSOP final table again in 1999 , finishing in sixth place after being defeated by eventual winner Noel Furlong . Seed won a total of four bracelets at the WSOP. As part of the WSOP 2010 , he took first place in the prestigious Tournament of Champions and made a profit of $ 500,000. Often times, Seed is viewed as intimidating because he is eight feet tall and rarely speaks at the table.

To date, he has won more than $ 7.5 million in live poker tournaments .
