Mansour Matloubi (* 1952 in Iran ) is a former British poker player of Iranian descent from Wales . He became the first non-American to win the World Poker Championship in 1990 .
Career
Matloubi was a very active tournament player in the 1990s . At the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 1990 , Matloubi defeated American Hans Lund and won the first prize of $ 835,000 in the main WSOP tournament . This made him the first non-American to win this tournament.
In his poker career, he has won over $ 2 million in official live poker tournaments.
