Qui Nguyen (* 1977 in Ho Chi Minh City ) is an American poker player . Nicknamed Tommy Gun , he won the World Poker Championship in 2016 .

Poker career

Nguyen has been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2003 .

In July 2016 he played the Main Event of the World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and reached the final table with the second-largest chip stack, which was played from October 30, 2016. There he prevailed in the morning hours of November 2, 2016 after a long heads-up against Gordon Vayo and received a bracelet and a prize of over eight million US dollars .

Overall, Nguyen has earned over eight million dollars playing poker in live tournaments.
