The Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2013 was the main tournament of the 44th edition of the Poker World Championship in Las Vegas .

Tournament structure

Registration for the main tournament of the World Series of Poker in the No Limit Hold'em variant was spread over the three days from July 6th to 8th, 2013. Then the game was played until the seventh day of the tournament on July 16, after which only nine players remained. The final table was played from November 4, 2013. The entire tournament was played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . The total of 6352 participants had a buy-in of 10,000 dollars to pay for them, there were 648 paid places. The best woman was the Australian Jackie Glazier , who finished 31st for almost $ 230,000 in prize money. The Berlin Anton Morgenstern was the chip leader at day seven and led the field at even at 21 players remaining. After two big losses to Mark Newhouse , he was eliminated in 20th place against Fabian Ortiz. The winner of 2001 , Carlos Mortensen , just missed the final table and finished tenth for around 570,000 dollars. Ryan Riess was in last place with 21 players and won the tournament.

The main event was streamed live from the third day of the tournament on the WSOP website. The US TV channel ESPN also broadcast summaries in a total of 18 episodes, commented on by Norman Chad and Lon McEachern and moderated by Kara Scott . The final table was broadcast live and exclusively on ESPN.
