Main Event
The main tournament was played from May 11th to 16th, 1972. Eight participants paid the buy-in of $ 5,000 . In addition, Benny Binion paid an entry fee of $ 5,000 for each player to advertise his hotel, Binion's Horseshoe. In the final hand Preston won with K ♥ J ♦ against Pearson with 6 6 .
