Tournament structure
The main tournament of the World Series of Poker in No Limit Hold'em started on May 10th and ended with the final table on May 13th, 1999. The tournament was held at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas . The total of 393 participants had to pay a buy-in of US $ 10,000 each, and there were 36 paid places for them. Swiss Chris Bigler was the first German-speaking player to make the money in a WSOP main event.
