2012 World Series of Poker Main Event
The Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2012 was the main event of the 43rd edition of the Poker World Championship in Las Vegas .
Tournament structure
Registration for the main tournament of the World Series of Poker in the No Limit Hold'em variant was spread over the three days from July 7th to 9th, 2012. Then the game was played until the seventh day of the tournament on July 17th, after which only nine players remained. The final table was played from October 28, 2012. The entire tournament was played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . The total of 6598 participants had a buy-in of 10,000 dollars to pay for them, there were 666 paid places. With Gaëlle Baumann (10th) and Elisabeth Hille(11.) two women narrowly missed the final table. After Barbara Enright in 1995, it would have been only the second time that a woman has sat at the final table of the main event.

The main event was streamed live from the third day of the tournament on the WSOP website. The US television channel ESPN also broadcast summaries in a total of 22 episodes, commented on by Norman Chad and Lon McEachern and moderated by Kara Scott . The final table was broadcast live and exclusively on ESPN.
