Steven "Steve" Gee (* 1955 in China ) is a professional American poker player .

Personal

Gee came to the United States with his family as a child and moved with them to Sacramento , where he still lives today. Gee graduated from California State University in Sacramento with a degree in business administration with a major in accounting . He later worked as a project manager for CalPERS .

Poker career

Gee learned poker at the age of twelve and was already playing cash games at the Oaks Card Club in Emeryville by the age of 20 . There he rose to a high roller on until the age of 27 years went bankrupt . He then left his poker career on hold for over 20 years and didn't start playing again until 2005.

The end of May 2009 was Gee first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and died in a tournament of the variant No-Limit Hold 'em the money. A year later, he won a bracelet at the 2010 WSOP and almost $ 500,000 in prize money. At the WSOP 2012 , Gee reached the final table in the main event with the fifth-largest chip stack , which was played in late October 2012. There he finished ninth and received his highest prize money to date of over 750,000 US dollars. Also at the WSOP Main Event in 2013 reached Gee seventh day of the tournament and finished the event in 24th place for 285,000 US dollars.

In total, Gee has earned more than $ 1.5 million in poker playing live tournaments.
