Poker career

Koroknai played online from August 2006 to January 2013 under the nicknames Frccsï ... ( PokerStars ) , kori23 ( Full Tilt Poker ) and kori25 ( partypoker ) with tournament winnings of just under 65,000 US dollars . Since 2008 he has also been participating in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of March 2010 Koroknai won the LA Poker Classic of the World Poker Tour in Los Angeles with a prize money of almost 1.8 million dollars. In June 2010 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in a tournament in the No Limit Hold'em variant . At the main event in the same year, he reached 339th place for around $ 35,000 in prize money. In early December 2010, Koroknai won the Poker Open in Budapest and received the equivalent of more than $ 100,000. At the WSOP 2012 he played the main event again and was the first and so far only Hungarian with the second-largest chip stack to reach the final table , which was played at the end of October 2012. There the only non-American landed in sixth place for more than $ 1.6 million in prize money. Even before reaching the final table, Koroknai caused a stir twice after folding or revealing his cards too early in the hands against Gaëlle Baumann and Fabrizio González .

In total, Koroknai has earned over $ 3.5 million in poker in live tournaments, making him the third most successful Hungarian poker player after Márton Czuczor and Norbert Szécsi .
