Gaëlle Baumann (born April 26, 1983 in Strasbourg ) is a professional French poker player .

Personal

Baumann studied English in Australia , where he obtained a bachelor's and master's degree . She lived for a time in Malta and in London . She is now the mother of one child and lives in Ashford .

Poker career

Baumann started playing poker in 2007 and has been participating in prestigious live tournaments since 2011 .

At the end of April 2012, she made the money for the first time at the main event of the European Poker Tour and finished 75th in Monte-Carlo for 15,000 euros in prize money. In the summer of 2012 Baumann was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and initially cashed in a tournament in the No Limit Hold'em variant as well as in the Ladies Championship . Then she played the main event , where she was the first woman ever to start the third day of the tournament as a chip leader. After four more days, she narrowly missed the final table and finished the event as the best woman in tenth place for prize money of around 600,000 US dollars . At the World Series of Poker Europe 2013 in Cannes , she finished seventh in the Ladies Event for $ 3,200. At the 2016 WSOP , Baumann was again the last woman in the main event , finishing in 102nd place for around $ 50,000 in prize money.

Overall, Baumann has earned over a million dollars with poker in live tournaments. She is sponsored by the French online poker room Winamax , where she plays under the nickname O RLY .
