Barbara Enright (born August 19, 1949 in Los Angeles , California ) is a professional American poker player . She's triple bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Poker career

Career

At the age of four years played Enright with her older brother, the poker variant Five Card Draw . From 1976 she played in casinos . As a result, Enright worked as a waitress and hairdresser . Often times she would work three jobs at the same time to make enough money for a living. Since she could make more money playing poker, she started a professional poker career.

Enright won in 1986 and 1994 , the women's tournament of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas , where the variant Seven Card Stud is played. In 1995 , she became the first and so far only woman to reach the final table of the WSOP main event . She finished fifth after losing two eights to her opponent's suited six and three. Ten years later, Enright came again in the money after they sign up for only 10  dollars a Satellite had qualified. In 1996 , she became the first woman to win an open tournament at the WSOP. She was also the first woman to win two and three bracelets at the WSOP.

In recognition of her achievements, she became the first woman to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame on July 6, 2007 . Their live poker tournament earnings are over $ 1.5 million.

Today she lives a bit withdrawn from the poker circus and only occasionally plays in tournaments. Enright is married to writer and poker player Max Shapiro.
