Kristen Dawn Bicknell (born December 29, 1986 in St. Catharines , Ontario ) is a professional Canadian poker player .

Bicknell is considered to be one of the best tournament players in the world and is one of the few women who can hold their own in the top male-dominated poker world. She has earned over 6 million US dollars online with tournament poker and more than 5 million US dollars live , making her third place in the ranking of the most successful women after live tournament prize money . Bicknell's triple bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker . She was named Player of the Year three times in a row by the Global Poker Index from 2017 to 2019 .

Personal

Bicknell is the daughter of Canadian racing driver Pete Bicknell , a member of the Canadian Motor Sports Hall of Fame . She grew up with two older sisters in St. Catharines , a town in southern Ontario , a few kilometers from the US border . Bicknell studied criminology at Carleton University in Ottawa . Poker career

Career

2006–2016: Beginnings and winning two bracelets

Bicknell learned poker from friends during her freshman year at university. She was inspired by Jennifer Harman , who she saw on the TV format Poker After Dark .

Bicknell has been playing online poker since July 2006 . It uses on the platforms PokerStars , Party Poker and WSOP.com nickname krissyb24 and performed as krissy24 at Full Tilt Poker , as well as krissyb24! in appearance on Americas Cardroom .
