William Alexander "Alex" Foxen (born February 1, 1991 in Cold Spring Harbor , New York ) is a professional American poker player .

Foxen is considered one of the best tournament players in the world. He has earned more than $ 16.5 million playing poker in live tournaments . His greatest achievement so far was winning the World Poker Tour Main Event in Las Vegas in December 2019 . Foxen was at the top of the live poker world rankings for the first time on October 10, 2018 and led it for 37 weeks in a row until June 25, 2019 - longer than any other player. From July 10 to 23, and from July 31 to August 13, 2019, he again led the ranking for two weeks each. From December 25, 2019 to June 16, 2020, Foxen was back in first place for 25 weeks. From June 24th to July 14th 2020 he was again the leader. No other player was in the top position for more than 69 weeks . Foxen was named Player of the Year by the Global Poker Index (GPI) in 2018 and 2019 .

Foxen won a tournament at the World Series of Poker Circuit in New Orleans in mid-May 2012 and received a prize of more than $ 20,000. In June 2015 he was successful for the first time in the main tournament series of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in three tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant . 2018: First world number one and player of the year
