Anthony "Ant" Zinno (* 1981 in Cranston , Rhode Island ) is a professional American poker player .

Zinno has made more than $ 10 million playing poker in live tournaments . In July 2015 he was at the top of the poker world rankings for 2 weeks . From July 22nd to 28th, 2020, Zinno was listed at number one again for a week. He is a two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker and three-time title holder of the World Poker Tour , where he was named Player of the Year in 2014/15 .

Personal

Zinno graduated from Cranston High School West and studied chemical engineering at the Polytechnic Institute in Worcester . Later he became interested in patent law and graduated from the Suffolk University in Boston with a degree in law . He lives in Boston.

Poker career

Career

During his studies, Zinno discovered his passion for poker and started playing prestigious live tournaments in 2007 .

In July 2008 , Zinno was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished 205th place in the main event . Zinno's first major success came in September 2013 when he won the World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Event in Atlantic City for more than $ 800,000 in prize money. In mid-February 2015, he also won the WPT Main Event of the Fallsview Poker Classic in Niagara Falls, Canada, and received the equivalent of around 300,000 US dollars. He won his third WPT title just two weeks later at the LA Poker Classic in Los Angeles and also won more than one million US dollars in prize money for the first time. For these achievements he was honored with the Player of the Year Award of the World Poker Tour and at the end of 2015 with the Card Player Player of the Year Award . At the 2015 WSOP , Zinno placed five times in the money. He finished seventh in the High Roller for One Drop for around 565,000 US dollars and then secured a bracelet and more than 1.1 million US dollars by winning the Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller . From April to November 2016 , Zinno played as part of the Las Vegas Moneymakers in the Global Poker League , but missed the playoffs with his team. In mid-July 2018, he won the DeepStack Championship at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas with a prize of more than 465,000 US dollars. At the 2019 WSOP , Zinno prevailed in a Pot-Limit Omaha Hi / Lo 8 or Better tournament, securing his second bracelet and the grand prize of around $ 280,000. At the end of October 2019, he reached the final table at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov and took third place, worth around 485,000 euros .
