Michael David Mizrachi (born January 5, 1981 in Miami , Florida ) is a professional American poker player .
Mizrachi has made more than $ 17 million in poker playing live tournaments . Nicknamed The Grinder and two-time champions of the World Poker Tour and five-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker , where he the 2010 final table of the Main Event reached. As part of the 50th edition of the World Series of Poker , Mizrachi was named one of the 50 best players in poker history in June 2019 .
Poker career
Career
Mizrachi studied medicine , but dropped out to devote himself entirely to the game of poker . His first major success in tournament poker was a win at a side event of the Five-Diamond World Poker Classics in December 2004 in Las Vegas for more than $ 270,000 in prize money . In February 2005, he won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Los Angeles and received a prize of around 1.85 million dollars. At the following World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2005 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Mizrachi achieved the most placements of all players in the prize categories with seven cashes. In January 2006 he continued his success story at the WPT with a second place in the main event of the Gold Strike World Poker Open for more than $ 550,000 and a victory in the main event of the Borgata Winter Open for just under $ 1.2 million. 2006 Mizrachi participated in the second season of High Stakes Poker and won the by Card Player Magazine awarded Player of the Year Award . family
Mizrachi's older brother Robert and twin brother Eric are also successful poker players. Her younger brother Daniel is a professional magician. At the WSOP 2010 Main Event , all four brothers made it into the money.
