Phillip "Phil" Hui (born November 17, 1987 in San Antonio , Texas ) is a professional American poker player . He is two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Personal

Prior to his poker career, Hui played golf professionally at the University of Texas at San Antonio . He is in a relationship with poker player Loni Harwood , who is also a two-time bracelet winner. Hui lives in San Antonio .

Poker career

Career

Hui played online from October 2008 to “Black Friday” in April 2011 under the nicknames KungPhui ( PokerStars ) and PHFLYER06 ( Full Tilt Poker ) . He has teamed up with tournament poker almost 150,000 US dollars earned. Since 2009 Hui has been participating in renowned live tournaments .

Mid-November 2010 won a Hui Circuit tournament of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Lake Tahoe with a prize money of more than $ 25,000. In 2013 , he first won the WSOP main tournament series at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and made it into the money twice. He reached for a tournament variant No Limit Hold'em final table, finishing in doped with nearly US $ 60,000 sixth place. At the 2014 WSOP , Hui won an event in Omaha Hi-Lo and secured a bracelet and a prize of nearly $ 300,000. At the end of November 2014, he finished seventh at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in Kahnawake for around 75,000 Canadian dollars . At the 2017 WSOP , Hui took second place in a tournament in the mixed variant HORSE and received just under 160,000 US dollars. Two years later, he reached two final tables in mixed-variant tournaments for over $ 110,000 in prizes at the 2019 WSOP and then won the $ 50,000 Poker Player's Championship , one of the most prestigious events on the tournament schedule. In return, Hui prevailed against 73 other players and secured his second bracelet as well as his highest prize money by far of around 1.1 million US dollars. This achievement was recognized in March 2020 with a Global Poker Award for the “Final Table Performance of the Year 2019”.

Overall, Hui has earned more than $ 3 million in poker in live tournaments.
