James Carroll (born June 16, 1986 ) is a professional American poker player . He is two-time champions of the World Poker Tour .

Poker career

Carroll played online under the nickname croll103 on the platforms PokerStars , Full Tilt Poker and UltimateBet from August 2006 to September 2016 . During this time, he earned more than three million US dollars in prize money with tournament poker . In 2011 Carroll was at times among the top 10 of the PocketFives ranking, which lists the most successful online poker tournament players worldwide. Since 2009 he has also been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of March 2010, Carroll placed in the prize money at the main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT), the LA Poker Classic in Los Angeles , and received just under 30,000 US dollars for his 50th place . In June 2010 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in three tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant . He reached a final table and in the main event the seventh day of the tournament, whereby he secured prize money totaling almost 180,000 US dollars. In November 2012, Caroll won the Heartland Poker Tour Main Event at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas with a prize of more than $ 100,000. At the WPT Main Event in San José , he also prevailed as the winner in mid-March 2014 and received the main prize of over 1.25 million US dollars. In early November 2017, he finished second in the main event of the WSOP circuit in Lake Tahoe for more than $ 90,000. At the 2018 WSOP , Carroll also took second place in the monster stack event, which was worth $ 640,000. In February 2019, he also came second at the DeepStack Extravaganza Main Event at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas and received prize money of just under 185,000 US dollars due to a deal with Jesse Sylvia . At the WPT Main Event in Los Angeles, Carroll finished seventh in early March 2019 for over $ 155,000. In mid-April 2019, he secured his second WPT title at the WPT Main Event in Hollywood , Florida , as well as a prize money of around 715,000 US dollars. In December 2019, he also prevailed in the high roller tournament at the Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas and received prize money of almost 115,000 US dollars.
