The Palms Casino Resort is a hotel , casino, and resort located west of the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas , Nevada . The hotel has 702 rooms and a casino on an area of approximately 9,000 square meters . The hotel also has a recording studio for audio productions and an event room with 2,200 seats. Most of the hotel is owned by the Maloof family; the Greenspun Corporation holds a stake of five percent.

The hotel was designed by Jon Jerde and opened on November 15, 2001.
In addition to the casino, the Palms also has several cinema screens and discos .
As a further special feature, a second tower was built in October 2005 at a cost of 600 million US dollars , which contains an approximately 1,000 square meter suite , which has the only basketball court in a hotel room worldwide.
In 2006, the Palms hosted the high stakes poker television program . On September 9, 2007, the MTV Video Music Awards 2007 took place in the hotel's casino.
The third tower, opened in 2008, is the hotel's last.
