Aaron Mermelstein (born April 30, 1987 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is a professional American poker player . He is two-time champions of the World Poker Tour .

Personal

Mermelstein's parents emigrated from the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic to the United States in the late 1970s and settled in Philadelphia . He attended Pennsylvania State University and earned a degree in business administration . Mermelstein lives in Miami .

Poker career

Mermelstein learned the game as a teenager and began playing online poker on the Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars platforms under the nickname aaronmermel while in college . Since 2010 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

In July 2013 Mermelstein was the first time in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and occurred in two tournaments of the variant No-Limit Hold'em in the money. Mid-November 2014, he won a Deepstack tournament of Borgata Poker Open event in Atlantic City and received around 40,000 US dollars . In the same place, Mermelstein prevailed against 988 other players at the main event of the World Poker Tour at the end of January 2015 and secured a prize of more than 710,000 US dollars. In September 2015, he won the WPT Maryland Live! won his second WPT title in Hanover and received over $ 250,000 in prize money. Mermelstein finished the main event of the Borgata Spring Poker Open at the end of April 2016 in second place for around 200,000 US dollars. In June 2016, he also took second place at the main event of the Hollywood Poker Open at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas, which was endowed with over 200,000 US dollars. In mid-April 2019, Mermelstein won the high roller of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in Hollywood , Florida , and received a prize of just under $ 620,000 as a result of a deal with Alex Foxen .
