Alan Goehring (born February 21, 1962 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin ) is a retired high yield analyst and entrepreneur from Henderson . At the age of 37 he changed his profession and became a professional poker player . Goehring is a two-time title holder of the World Poker Tour and won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker Online in 2020 .

Poker career

At the 1997 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas , Goehring had his first success in a $ 3,000 tournament when he finished third and won over $ 60,000. Finally the professional status could be granted to him when he in 1999 in the WSOP Main Event just Noel Furlong had to go first. Goehring won his first title on the World Poker Tour (WPT) in 2003 at the Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas. At the season finale of the first WPT he triumphed in heads-up over Kirill Gerasimow . The tournament had a buy-in of $ 25,000 and it won $ 1 million in prize money. With him at the final table sat Phil Ivey , Doyle Brunson and Ted Forrest , among others . At the LA Poker Classic in Los Angeles in 2006 , Goehring secured his second WPT title and won an unprecedented record prize money of around 2.4 million US dollars. In July 2020, under the nickname GladiusIII , he won a bracelet and a prize of around 120,000 US dollars at a tournament of the World Series of Poker Online, which was played out due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

In total, Goehring earned more than 5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments.
