Kirill Gerasimov ( Russian Кирилл Герасимов ; English transcription Kirill Gerasimov ; born June 5, 1971 in Moscow ) is a Russian poker player .

Career

Gerasimov worked as an insurance salesman and in 2001 began playing poker tournaments across Europe. At the World Poker Tour Championship , he was the first season second behind Alan Goehring and won a prize of more than 500,000 US dollars . In May 2003 Gerasimov arrived at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas at the final table of a tournament, the variant No-Limit Hold'em . He finished sixth for $ 24,000. He made two final tables at the 2004 WSOP . He finished fifth in the $ 1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em ($ 30,060 prize money) and second in the $ 1,500 No Limit Hold'em Shootout ($ 100,000 prize money). He won four prizes at the 2005 WSOP . He finished second in an event in Seven Card Stud ($ 108,775 in prize money) and was 444th in the Main Event ($ 16,055 in prize money). In the year Gerasimow came into the prize ranks seven times at the WSOP . In season two of the European Poker Tour , he made the Main Event final table twice . He finished fifth in London and third in Deauville . In 2008 , Gerasimov sat at two WSOP final tables and secured more than $ 350,000 in prize money. At the 2009 WSOP , he finished second in the World Pot Limit Hold'em Championship for just under $ 400,000.

His live tournament winnings are over $ 2.5 million.
