Timothy Christopher "Tim" Adams (born June 4, 1986 in Burlington , Ontario ) is a professional Canadian poker player .

Adams has earned more than $ 24 million in live poker tournaments , making him the second most successful Canadian poker player after Daniel Negreanu . From July 15 to 21, 2020, he was at the top of the poker world rankings for a week . Adams secured a bracelet at the World Series of Poker in June 2012 and victory in the Triton Super High Roller Series Main Event in March 2019 . In 2020 he won the Super High Roller Bowl twice in a row in Sydney in February and in Sochi in March .

Poker career

Career

Adams started playing poker when he was 18. He plays online under the nickname Tim0thee . On the platform Full Tilt Poker he earned around 530,000 US dollars with tournament poker. He won just under $ 2 million on PokerStars . Adams secured his highest online prize money for finishing third in a 2014 World Championship of Online Poker event for around $ 110,000. Since 2007 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of July 2007 Adams was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . At the 2012 WSOP , he won a four-handed event for which he received a bracelet and a prize of just under $ 400,000. In mid-September 2012, he sat at the final table of the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in Paris and secured fourth place prize money of around 125,000 euros . In May 2013, Adams finished fourth in the Super High Roller of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Monte-Carlo for prize money of 485,100 euros. From April to November 2016 he played as part of the Rome Emperors in the Global Poker League , but missed the playoffs with his team. At the end of August 2016, he took third place at the EPT Super High Roller in Barcelona for around 600,000 euros. In early May 2017, Adams won a two-day high roller tournament of the PokerStars Championship in Monte-Carlo with a prize money of more than 350,000 euros. In mid-October 2017, he finished seventh in the main event of the Triton Super High Roller Series in Macau for the equivalent of 360,000 US dollars, and only three days later he finished third in the Super High Roller of the Asia Championship of Poker for a cash equivalent of just under one million US dollars -Dollar. In mid-December 2017, Adams won the super high roller event of the last PokerStars Championship held in Prague with a prize of 555,000 euros. In February 2018, he took third place in the Super High Roller at partypoker Millions Germany in Rozvadov for 362,500 euros. At the end of August 2018, Adams finished fourth in the EPT Super High Roller in Barcelona and received around 575,000 euros. In mid-January 2019, he won a $ 50,000 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure event in the Bahamas . The heads-up against Stephen Chidwick , with whom Adams had previously agreed on a deal and thereby secured prize money of around 370,000 US dollars, was played out with two additional jokers in the card deck.
