Christoph Vogelsang (born July 26, 1985 in Sassenberg ) is a professional German poker player .

Vogelsang has earned more than 25 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments , making it the second most successful German poker player after Fedor Holz . His greatest achievement so far was winning the Super High Roller Bowl in June 2017.

Personal

Vogelsang comes from Sassenberg in the Münsterland . He is a devout Christian and studied economics at the University of Witten / Herdecke and the London School of Economics and Political Science . Vogelsang lives in London .

Poker career

Career

Vogelsang plays online under the nicknames Tight-Man1 ( Full Tilt Poker ) and 26071985 ( PokerStars ) . He made a profit of more than 2.5 million US dollars with cash games . Since 2013 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments. Vogelsang almost exclusively plays high roller events, i. H. Tournaments with buy-ins of at least US $ 10,000.

In October 2013 Vogelsang was successful for the first time in a renowned live tournament and cashed in at the super high roller event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in London . There he took third place behind his compatriots Martin Finger and Tobias Reinkemeier , which earned him prize money equivalent to more than 600,000 US dollars. In the summer of 2014 , Vogelsang took part in the Big One for One Drop as part of the World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas , which requires a buy-in of one million US dollars. In January 2015, he finished fifth in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures Super High Roller in the Bahamas for more than $ 500,000. At the beginning of June 2017 he won the Super High Roller Bowl at the Aria Resort & Casino and thus his first live tournament ever. Due to this success, Vogelsang was a guest on June 21, 2017 in the television magazine stern TV moderated by Steffen Hallaschka . At the beginning of November 2017, Vogelsang took sixth place in the € 111,111 High Roller for One Drop of the World Series of Poker Europe 2017 at King's Resort in Rozvadov for more than € 600,000 in prize money. At the end of April 2018, he finished second behind Sam Greenwood at the EPT Super High Roller in Monte-Carlo for more than one million euros. At the end of May 2018, Vogelsang reached the final table of the Super High Roller Bowl again and received $ 1.2 million in prize money for fifth place. In mid-October 2019 he finished third in the Super High Roller of the World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov and secured almost 1.2 million euros. A few days later he also reached the final table of the series' Diamond High Roller and received an additional 630,000 euros for his fourth place. At the Super High Roller Bowl Russia in Sochi , Vogelsang took second place, worth 2.4 million US dollars, in mid-March 2020.
