Isaac Blum "Ike" Haxton (born September 21, 1985 in New York City , New York ) is a professional American poker player .

Haxton has earned more than $ 27.5 million in poker playing live tournaments . He is nicknamed The Lizard King ( German  of lizards -König ) and won in December 2018 the Super High Roller Bowl . At the 50th edition of the World Series of Poker in June 2019, Haxton was named as one of the 50 best players in poker history .

Personal

Haxton was born the son of an English teacher in suburban New York City . He learned chess at the age of four and began playing the trading card game Magic: The Gathering at the age of ten . He later studied computer science and philosophy at Brown University in Providence , but dropped out because of his poker successes. Haxton lives in Malta .

Haxton learned poker from friends in high school . He plays online under the nicknames philivey2694 ( PokerStars ) and luvtheWNBA ( Full Tilt Poker ) . With cash games he made a profit of almost 3 million US dollars on the platforms . As Ike Haxton , he was also part of Team PokerStars until the end of 2015 . He has been part of the partypoker team since January 2018 and plays on the platform under the nickname SignoreUkelele .

Haxton has also participated in renowned live tournaments since 2007 .

In early January 2007, Haxton took second place at the World Poker Tour Main Event in the Bahamas and received more than $ 850,000 in prize money. In July 2007 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in three tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant , u. a. he finished 94th in the main event . At the 2009 WSOP , Haxton finished second behind Vitali Lunkin at the anniversary event for the 40th main tournament series , securing over one million US dollars.
