All players started with a stack of 250,000 chips. Four re-entries were recorded during the registration period, generating a prize pool of 4 million Australian dollars.

The first day of the tournament ended with five players remaining. Elio Fox held the chip lead and started the final day with more than 1.3 million chips. However, he had to give his chip lead to Kahle Burns early after a failed bluff . It was the latter who took Fox out of the tournament with a straight in fifth place. As the last player before the prize money, Aaron Van Blarcum had to say goodbye, who lost to Burns' nines in the blind battle. With three remaining players, Cary Katz was now the short stack and it was he who ended the tournament after a hand against Timothy Adams in third for 640,000 Australian dollars. Burns went into the decisive heads-up with a clear lead, but Adams quickly gained chips and took the chip lead after a large pot. In the final hand his A 9 ♥ held against Q J ♥ of the Australian and Adams secured the prize of 2.16 million Australian dollars.
