Triton Super High Roller Series

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Triton Super High Roller Series is a poker tournament series that is played around three times a year at different locations around the world. The tournaments have buy-ins of at least US $ 10,000 .

history

The Triton Series was founded by Malaysian businessman and amateur poker player Richard Yong . In the tournaments, the variants No Limit Hold'em and No Limit Hold'em Short Deck Ante-Only are played almost exclusively .

At the end of January 2017, three events were announced for the year in Manila , Macau and Budva . In May 2018, four more tournaments took place in Budva, hosted by the partypoker Live tournament series . There, further events in the South Korean province of Jeju-do were announced for the end of July 2018 . The first events in 2019 were also played in Jeju-do in March. In the second edition in 2019, the Pot Limit Omaha variant was played for the first time in Budva . At the beginning of August 2019 the Triton Million for Charity took place in London , which was the most expensive poker tournament to date with a buy-in of one million pounds sterling . The tournament series planned for February 2020 in Jeju-do was initially postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic and canceled completely at the beginning of March 2020. The intended event in Budva in May 2020 was also canceled at the end of March 2020.

The tournaments are broadcast on the live streaming platform Twitch and commented by Lex Veldhuis and Randy Lew .
