Stefan Schillhabel (born March 3, 1987 in Düsseldorf ) is a professional German poker player .

Schillhabel has earned almost 9.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments , making him one of the most successful German poker players . He won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in March 2016 .

Personal

Schillhabel comes from Düsseldorf and lives in Vienna . In addition to his poker career, he was active as an amateur soccer player and played as a striker for the first and second team of Lohausener SV in the district league. Schillhabel studied sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen until 2015 and worked in sales. In July 2018 he founded along with several other poker players like Fedor wood and Steffen Sontheimer an e-sports team called No Limit Gaming and forwards the GmbH since then as CEO. The aim of the project is to transfer successes and experiences from poker to the e-sports sector.

Schillhabel plays online under the nicknames baeks22 ( PokerStars ) and Karl-Heinz55 ( partypoker ) . He has been participating in renowned live poker tournaments since 2013.

In March 2014, Schillhabel reached 15th place at the main event of the Eureka Poker Tour in Vienna and won around 12,000 euros in prize money. At the end of March 2015 he cashed for the first time at the main event of the European Poker Tour and reached the final table in Malta with a field of 895 players. For his fourth place, Schillhabel received his highest prize money to date of 260,500 euros. In June 2015 he was the first time in the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and peaked at three tournaments of the variant No-Limit Hold'em , the money ranks. In March 2016, Schillhabel won the main event of the World Poker Tour in San José and prevailed against a field of 752 players. With this he secured prize money of around 1.3 million US dollars . In December 2016, Schillhabel won an event on the Eureka Poker Tour in Prague with a prize of almost 250,000 euros. At the Super High Roller Bowl 2017 , he reached the final table in early June 2017 and finished the tournament in third place for $ 2.4 million in prize money. In mid-October 2017, Schillhabel won the side event of the Triton Super High Roller Series in Macau with a prize money equivalent to around 750,000 dollars. In early December 2017, he finished third in the Super High Roller of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio for $ 624,000 and a few days later won a high roller event at the same location for around $ 350,000. In mid-January 2018, Schillhabel also won the Super High Roller at the Lucky Hearts Poker Open in Hollywood , Florida , with a prize of $ 493,000.
