Dominik "Dom" Nitsche (born October 11, 1990 in Minden ) is a professional German poker player .
Nitsche has earned more than 18.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments and is one of the most successful German poker players . He is a four-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour once . His greatest achievement so far was winning the High Roller for One Drop at WSOP Europe 2017 . As part of the 50th edition of the World Series of Poker , Nitsche was named as one of the 50 best players in poker history in June 2019 .
Poker career
Career
Nitsche lives in Edinburgh and has been playing online poker since 2006 . He uses the nickname Bounatirou on the PokerStars platform and the name PartyRainer on partypoker and played as JustLuck1337 at Full Tilt Poker . His tournament winnings on PokerStars be more than 5 million US dollars . Since June 2015 Nitsche has been the brand ambassador for the 888poker platform , where he plays under the nickname 888Dominik .
Nitsche had his first tournament success in 2009 at the main event of the Latin American Poker Tour in Mar del Plata, Argentina . First place earned him just under $ 400,000. In the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas won Nitsche 2012 his first bracelet in a tournament variant No Limit Hold'em . In October 2012 he won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in Johannesburg and received a prize of more than 200,000 US dollars. In mid-October 2013 , Nitsche took third place at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe in Enghien-les-Bains for 400,000 euros in prize money. In May 2014, he won the National Championship of the WSOP for around $ 350,000 and his second bracelet . In June 2014 , Nitsche secured another bracelet at the WSOP main tournament series, replacing Phil Ivey as the youngest winner of three bracelets. In June 2016, Nitsche took second place behind Fedor Holz at the Aria Super High Roller at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and received prize money of around 630,000 US dollars. From April to December 2016 Nitsche played as part of the Berlin Bears in the Global Poker League and reached the final with his team. At the beginning of November 2017 he won the € 111,111 High Roller for One Drop of the World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov . For this he prevailed against his compatriot Andreas Eiler in the heads-up and received his highest prize to date of almost 3.5 million euros as well as his fourth bracelet. In mid-February 2018, Nitsche won the high roller at partypoker Millions Germany with a prize of 300,000 euros. In March 2018, he finished fourth at the Super High Roller Bowl China in Macau for the equivalent of almost 1.7 million US dollars in prize money. In mid-April 2018, Nitsche finished fourth at the main event of the partypoker Millions in Barcelona for € 800,000 in prize money. At the end of October 2018 he reached the final table of the Super High Roller of the World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov as the chip leader and finished fifth, which was paid for around 575,000 euros. In mid-January 2019, Nitsche finished second in the high roller of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas and secured prize money of more than 600,000 US dollars. At the 2019 WSOP , he made the final table in the $ 100,000 high roller event, finishing sixth for more than $ 450,000.
Parallel to his poker career, Nitsche launched his own poker training app, DTO Poker, in 2019 . The app, available for Android and iOS devices, combines information from multiple poker training platforms, making it possible to improve your own poker game in an effective way.
