Carsten Joh (* 1963 or 1964 ) is a German poker player .

Personal

Joh comes from Reutlingen and runs a sports betting office there . Before starting his poker career, he played backgammon .

Poker career

Joh has been participating in renowned live tournaments since 2007.

At the beginning of March 2008 Joh took second place at the Bregenz Open and received more than 65,000 euros . About three weeks later, he finished seventh at the main event of the Irish Poker Open in Dublin, collecting 100,000 euros. At the end of June 2009 , Joh was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and was the first German to win a bracelet in the No Limit Hold'em variant . For this, he prevailed against 2,780 other players and secured prize money of more than 650,000 US dollars . At the beginning of March 2010 he cashed in at the main event of the European Poker Tour in Berlin and finished the tournament in 14th place for 30,000 euros. At the 2011 WSOP , Joh made it to the money twice.

Overall, Joh has earned over a million dollars playing poker in live tournaments.
