Besim Hot (* in Macedonia ) is a professional Swiss poker player .

Personal

As a child, Hot moved with his family from Macedonia to Switzerland. He lives in Zurich .

Poker career

Hot has been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2007 .

Hot won his first live prize money in early December 2007 at the Christmas Poker Championship in Bregenz , where he took third place, worth over 22,000 euros . In mid-October 2009 he finished second behind the Czech Martin Kabrhel in the No Limit Hold'em variant at the European Poker Championship in Baden, Lower Austria, and received prize money of around 135,000 euros. In December 2011, Hot also took second place at the Swiss Championship in Baden AG and secured 85,000 Swiss francs . In May 2012, he finished second at a high roller event at King's Resort in Rozvadov , which was paid for with 122,400 euros. In mid-August 2012 he prevailed in the same position at the high roller of the German Championship of Poker (GCOP) and received a prize of 155,000 euros. Hot repeated this success at the next GCOP in October 2012 and secured a further 150,000 euros. In February 2013 he also won the GCOP High Roller with a prize of 155,000 euros. In October 2019, Hot reached the final table of the Short Deck High Roller at the World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov and finished the event fifth for more than 165,000 euros. Three days later he won the mixed games championship of the tournament series and was the first Swiss to secure a bracelet and his highest prize money to date of around 385,000 euros.

Overall, Hot has with poker live tournament more than 2 million US dollars earned and is therefore in the Hendon Mob Poker Database as the most successful Swiss poker player out.
