Florian Langmann (born January 11, 1983 in Verden ) is a German poker player .

Personal

Langmann grew up in Verden, Lower Saxony . He began studying at the Swedish Lund , but later moved to the Technical University of Dresden , to where media computer science to study. Langmann played the real-time strategy game StarCraft and met a friend through the game who introduced him to poker. Today Langmann lives in Vienna .

Poker career

Langmann started playing the Fixed Limit Hold'em variant online with low stakes and worked his way up to sit and gos with stakes of more than 100 US dollars . Under the nickname F. Langmann , he belonged to Team PokerStars for some time . Langmann has been seen at renowned live tournaments since 2006 .

In mid-November 2006, the then unknown Langmann won the German poker championship in Berlin . In March 2007 he placed in the money for the first time at the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) and ended up in Dortmund on 37th place. Half a year later he made it into the heads-up at the EPT main event in London and finished second behind the Lebanese Joseph Mouawad for the equivalent of almost $ 700,000 in prize money. In June 2008 , Langmann was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in 105th place in an event in No Limit Hold'em for around 5000 dollars in prize money. At the 2014 WSOP , he won a Pot Limit Omaha Hi / Lo tournament and won almost $ 300,000 in prize money and a bracelet . Langmann had his last cash placements in live tournaments in January 2016 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas .

Overall, Langmann has earned more than two million dollars with poker in live tournaments.
