Paul Jürgen Höfer (born May 24, 1991 ) is a German poker player .

Poker career

Höfer comes from Leipzig and lives in Vienna . He plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname _pauL € FauL_ and has been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2010 .

In June 2015 , Höfer was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . After making three money places, he won the Little One for One Drop on July 3, 2015 with a buy-in of $ 1,111 . For this he prevailed against 4,554 other players and won a bracelet and prize money of almost 650,000 US dollars. At the 2016 WSOP , Höfer made the money for the first time in the main event, finishing the tournament in 43rd place for around 175,000 US dollars. In mid-July 2017, he finished second in the Deepstack Extravaganza at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas and received almost $ 400,000 in prize money due to a deal with two other players.

Overall, Höfer has earned at least two million US dollars with poker in live tournaments.
