Ismael "Isi" Colin Bojang (born October 17, 1988 in Hamburg ) is a professional German - Austrian poker player of Gambian origin.

Personal

Bojang attended the Heidberg high school in the Hamburg district of Langenhorn . He was part of the squad of the Gambian U17 national soccer team and played as a goalkeeper . Bojang has lived in Vienna since 2012 .

Poker career

Bojang plays online under the nickname Isidinho . Since 2008 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments.

In March 2009, Bojang placed in the money for the first time at the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Dortmund and came in 22nd for prize money of 17,000 euros . At the European Poker Championship in Velden am Wörther See in October 2010, he came fourth in the No Limit Hold'em variant for just under 60,000 euros. In June 2012 , Bojang won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the first time and cashed four times. At the beginning of October 2012, when he finished eighth in Sanremo, Italy , he achieved his best position to date at the EPT Main Event, which brought him more than 65,000 euros in prize money. In February 2013 he won the Pot Limit Omaha Championship held in Deauville , France as part of the EPT with a prize money of 83,000 euros. At the 2013 WSOP, Bojang cashed seven times and reached his first final table in the Seven Card Razz variant . In mid-December 2013 he finished second at an EPT side event in Prague for 75,600 euros in prize money. In the 2014 calendar year, Bojang set a new record with a total of 13 cash placements at the World Series of Poker and World Series of Poker Asia Pacific , which lasted until the 2017 WSOP . In doing so, he reached five final tables, earned over $ 330,000 in prize money, and placed seventh on the 2014 WSOP Player of the Year ranking for these achievements . At the 2015 WSOP , Bojang finished third in the 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball Championship for around $ 130,000, and also reached the final table in the Pot Limit Hold'em Championship and Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller for more than $ 200,000 in prize money. He came eighth in the 2015 WSOP Player of the Year ranking. In July 2016 , he finished fifth in a WSOP event in No Limit Hold'em for just under $ 180,000. In October 2016 Bojang won the main event of the Italian Poker Tour in Malta with a prize money of over 100,000 euros. In mid-April 2017, he finished second in a partypoker Millions tournament in Nottingham for the equivalent of more than $ 250,000 in prize money. In the WSOP 2018 Bojang reached at an event in No Limit Hold'em , the heads-up defeated and there the Israeli Timur Margolin , for which he received his highest ever prize money of more than $ 300,000. The following year, Bojang, who was considered one of the best players without a bracelet up to that point , won a tournament at the 2019 WSOP and secured his first bracelet and a prize of around $ 300,000 in his 72nd WSOP cash placement.

Overall, Bojang has earned more than $ 3.5 million in poker in live tournaments.
